Thank you for taking the time to check out what our family has been up to lately! Hope you enjoy these little glimpses into the lives of Brendan, Tiff, Dylan, & Makena...
Sadly, Epa's days of showing off on the trampoline for the grandkids are over... up until last weekend, he was reigning champ of back tucks, however, a freak accident has halted his career. He was teaching Dylan how to do a back bounce (jump up, land on back, bounce back up to feet) But his body over-rotated and he landed on his shoulders and neck, sending his legs (&full body weight) jack-knifing up into his chest. After a trip to the ER and 2 cat scans, he is blessed to have not suffered any paralysis or broken bones. But a deep contusion, stripped cartilage and muscles, and a severely strained sternum have sidelined him indefinitely. We have now unfortunately enforced a strict policy on our trampoline... kids only! We love you Epa and thanks for being so cool at the sacrifice of your own safety and body! RIP to Epa's trampoline career....
Dylan and I got to participate in the Pioneer Elementary & Meridian School District's Annual Fun Run this year! (Ryan, Will, Uncle Pete, & Epa also ran) It was a 1-mile fun run and upon finishing the kids got a medal! (I am still not sure why the parent running didn't get a medal???) It was beautiful weather, and we finished without stopping- I was so proud of Dylan and his efforts! (about 1/2 way through he wanted to stop and "barf", but rallied like a champ!) I love building memories with my kids and being active together is such a blessing...
I recently got to be a volunteer to go with Dylan's Kindergarten class to the Boise Zoo for a field trip... it was a bit cold and breezy, but that just meant that all the animals were out and active! It was really fun to get to be with Dylan and we had a great day! As you can see in one of the pics, we even had an up-close & personal experience with the male Lion-- he came right up to Dylan at the glass, looked him right in the face, and then slammed a huge paw into the glass right at Dylan and roared! It was SOOOOO cool, but I think we needed a restroom visit immediately after... (shout out Thank You to Ema for always watching Mak while I volunteered at D's school this year!)
WE WENT TO THE BSU BRONCO FAMILY FAN FEST DAY DOWN AT THE STADIUM... IT WAS SO COOL! THERE WAS BOUNCY HOUSES, BBQ BOOTHS, GAMES, AND THE FIESTA BOWL TROPHY WAS EVEN THERE. THEN WE GOT TO GO ON THE BLUE TURF AND THE KIDS GOT TO RUN FOOTBALL DRILLS WITH THE BSU FOOTBALL TEAM! COACH PETE DID A REALLY NEAT INSPIRATIONAL TALK TO ALL THE KIDS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD, AND ALL OF THE PLAYERS WERE SO FRIENDLY- GIVING AUTOGRAPHS AND TAKING PICS... AS YOU CAN SEE, WE WERE TAKING A FAMILY PIC AND JEREMY AVERY (BSU'S BEST PLAYER IN OUR OPINION!) SNUCK UP BEHIND ME AND GOT IN THE PIC... HOW COOL WHEN HE'S IN THE NFL AND WE HAVE A FAMILY PHOTO WITH HIM! IT WAS A GREAT DAY...
We finally got a trampoline! I have wanted one ever since I was a kid, and together with the help of MY two kids- we convinced Daddy to get us one! And oh, the fun we've had on it... Epa came over and helped us put it together on a Saturday, and within minutes of having it done- we counted 8 neighborhood kiddos out there waiting to jump! Mak LOVES it-- it has been a great family thing for us! We go out together alot after dinner and jump and play... Dylan has even created a game with sports balls on the tramp called "PoisonBall" and it has become a hit with all the boys on the street!
